Measure your space before ordering · 0:30

Clearance around it: about 90 cm

Before ordering your table, measure the space. Leave about 90 centimeters of clearance around the table to move comfortably and pull out the chairs without hitting walls or furniture.

Mark the outline with tape on the floor: seeing the full-size rectangle helps more than any number on paper.

The height: about 75 cm

As a common reference, a dining table is about 75 centimeters high. That height pairs with standard dining chairs and leaves comfortable legroom.

Width per person: about 60 cm

To work out the length, keep in mind that about 60 centimeters of width per person are planned. A table for six, for example, needs enough room for six comfortable seats.

With those three measurements in hand —length, width and clearance— getting the size of your custom table right is much easier.
